🎯 Teaching Objective
Establish a correct left-hand frame by beginning to press strings with the second finger.
Teaching Content
1. Left Hand Frame Establishment
• Begin pressing strings with the second finger (middle finger), using the finger's natural arch to form the correct hand frame
• Wrist position, relationship between the thumb and the neck
• Independence training for finger lifting and dropping
Lesson 3 illustration (second finger pressing demonstration)
🔑 Why Start with the Second Finger?
The second finger (middle finger) is the longest of the five fingers; starting with it naturally opens up the hand frame. Compared to starting with the first finger (index finger), beginning with the second finger more easily avoids common errors such as finger collapse and wrist pushing forward. First stabilize the second finger, then extend the other fingers outward on both sides—this is the core method distilled from Teacher Hao Li's forty years of teaching experience.
2. Right Hand Synchronized Reinforcement
• While the left hand presses strings, maintain bowing stability and rhythm with the right hand
Lesson 3 teaching video (second finger pressing demonstration)
💡 Teacher Hao says: This lesson marks the starting point of left-right hand coordination, with key focus on whether the left hand frame deforms due to string pressing. Beginning with the second finger is a signature method of this course system; teachers should explain its pedagogical logic to students and parents.
📝 Post-Lesson Practice Suggestions
• Practice second finger pressing combined with open string bowing at a slow tempo
• Check left hand frame in a mirror to ensure fingers stand upright and the wrist remains relaxed
