Idyllic Symphony Youth Public Welfare Orchestra · Rehearsal Journal Starting from Twinkle Twinkle, Heading Toward the New Year's Day Stage October 12, 2026 · Tongzhou Beiyuan Subdistrict On October 12, the Idyllic Symphony Youth Public Welfare Orchestra's Beiyuan Subdistrict Group B and the 2026 Fall Violin Class resumed lessons together. After a holiday away, the returning students' playing remained steady, and the new students' bows were already in motion. · · · Group B: Twinkle Twinkle, Nailed It For the returning students of Group B, the progress made over the holiday was visible. Back when school started in September, the children had just picked up their bows and were still fumbling with how to press the strings. Three months later, at this resumption of lessons, they could play the entire piece "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" quite respectably—the melody complete, the rhythm steady, and the parts no longer clashing when played together. "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" may sound simple, but for children starting from zero, going from the first note to the whole piece is a long road: holding the bow, holding the violin, open strings, finger placement, slurred bowing, ensemble playing… every step requires muscle memory as its foundation. To reach this point in three months shows that these children and their parents have truly been persevering. Orchestra director Tian Lifu made a call on the spot: if there's a performance opportunity on New Year's Day, Group B can go on stage.
· · · Fall Class: The First Bow Has Already Been Drawn On the other side, the newly recruited 2026 Fall Violin Class also resumed lessons on the same day. These children are a full semester behind Group B and are still at the most basic stage—bow-holding practice and rhythm training. How to hold the bow, how to relax the wrist, how to count the beats… these seemingly dull fundamentals are actually the foundation for all the pieces to come. Teacher Hao Li teaches with great attention to detail, correcting each posture one by one, not rushing ahead. But the director has already seen further ahead: at the current pace, by New Year's Day, the Fall Class is also expected to share the stage with Group B, playing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." · · · New Year's Day Stage: Two Classes, One Piece Picture this scene: on the New Year's Day stage, the children of Group B play steadily and confidently, while the Fall Class children follow behind—their bows perhaps still a bit unpolished, but the melody is right, the rhythm is right, and their eyes are earnest. Two groups of children, less than a semester apart in progress, yet playing the same piece on the same stage. This experience of "walking a stretch of road together" leaves a deeper mark on a child's heart than any certificate. From the first note to the first piece, from the first piece to the first stage appearance— This is the road the Idyllic Symphony Group B will walk. Now, the first step has already been taken.
