"Katyusha" has just been secured, and "Drawing Sword" is about to be handed to the new generation.

The children from the Jinyu International Group A and the Beiyuan Subdistrict Yueqingshan Group A have both successfully played the new piece "Katyusha" from beginning to end. After their first day of playing together, it is naturally not yet fair to call them proficient—some passages are still rough, and some transitions still need polishing—but they have already crossed the hardest step of any piece: going from 0 to 1. In time, they will surely reach the standard for stage performance.

Idyllic Symphony Youth Public Welfare Orchestra · Orchestra Chronicle "Katyusha" Just Conquered "Drawing Sword" Is About to Be Passed to the New Generation Jinyu International A Orchestra · Beiyuan Yuedingshan A Orchestra · October 2026 This past Friday and Saturday, both A-level orchestras of Idyllic Symphony brought good news. The children of Jinyu International A Orchestra and Beiyuan Subdistrict Yuedingshan A Orchestra both successfully played the new piece "Katyusha" in its entirety. On the first day of ensemble, it was naturally not yet polished—some parts were rough, some transitions still needed work—but they have already crossed the hardest part of any piece: "from 0 to 1." In time, they will certainly reach performance standard. There is also a detail few have noticed: the score of "Katyusha" in the children's hands was re-arranged by Professor Tian Yuan according to the children's current actual level. Where to simplify and where to leave room for the children to stretch themselves—all of it was carefully weighed. For a piece to "stand up" in a short time has never depended only on the children's efforts, but also on this ladder built to measure for them. This is highly commendable. And what is even more anticipated is next week—the children will take on the orchestra's signature repertoire piece: "Drawing Sword."
· · · This piece is the orchestra's "founding work" In Idyllic Symphony's repertoire, "Drawing Sword" holds a special place. It was not added later; it was the earliest starting point of the entire orchestra. The earliest version was a trio from the "three-generation symphony orchestra": Grandfather Professor Tian Yuan Father Orchestra Director Tian Lifu Grandson Tian Yiyun Three generations, three instruments, one "Drawing Sword" Later, this piece was gradually expanded, from a trio into a complete string orchestra version, with trumpet, clarinet, flute, and snare drum added—the melody was still that familiar melody, but the momentum and layering were completely different. · · · It once carried children onto a national award podium In 2024, the Idyllic Symphony Children's Orchestra, with this very piece "Drawing Sword," participated in the National Youth Music Literacy Competition— First Prize, Beijing Second Prize, National A piece that came out of a family living room ultimately sent a group of children from ordinary families onto the podium of a national competition.
· · · Next week, the baton passes to the new generation Next week, the children of the newly formed Idyllic Symphony Youth Public Welfare Orchestra will begin training on this piece. Most of them first held a bow only a few months ago; many of them come from ordinary families that had never before encountered classical music. But now, they are facing a piece that once won a national second prize. The path this piece has traveled is itself the story Idyllic Symphony wants to tell: From a trio of three generations, to the full complement of a string orchestra; from a family living room, to a national podium; and now, passed into the hands of a group of new children in a public welfare orchestra. A good piece has life; it will continue to grow in the hands of generation after generation of children. "Katyusha" is only the beginning; "Drawing Sword" is the real test—but we have reason to believe that these children who have just crossed "from 0 to 1" will one day, like their predecessors, play this piece in full and resoundingly. Where the blade points, the next stage: onto the stage.
